From George Sohn, President of Cinemaquette: "The piece we took to the NY [Toy Fair] show (February 2010) was a production sample, so what you see is what you will get."

RECENT AND UPCOMING COLLECTIBLES
Here's an interesting review of the Mattel's General Zod (released December 2009).
Apparently Mattel is re-sculpting the body and making costume adjustments on their upcoming Christopher Reeve figure. Here are two photos of the "lean" version: 1

Will there be a Gene Hackman Lex Luthor released later this year? We shall see.
There's news going around that Hot Toys will be releasing an MMS 1/6th scale Christopher Reeve Superman figure. Their Batman looks excellent. SideShowCollectors.com's forum discusses the Reeve figure here and here. And here are AFi's photos.

CUSTOM CHRISTOPHER REEVE SUPERMAN STATUE AND LIFESIZE BUST
The statue and bust shown below are among my favorite three-dimensional pieces depicting Christopher Reeve as Superman in my collection. They were both custom-designed to detailed specifications, and are no longer available. The statue was created by "Philfx" and the bust was created by a talented sculptor from Greece (name unknown). It is my understanding that fewer than a dozen statues were made; and only four busts were made, with this one being the first and best casting. Super Thanks to the talented folks who put so much love, energy and attention-to-detail into creating these works of art. Click on the photos to see larger versions. Photos by Jim Bowers. CUSTOM CHRISTOPHER REEVE SUPERMAN ACTION FIGURE
Created by Kristopher B. Meadows
Portrait artist and sculptor Kristopher B. Meadows' Christopher Reeve Superman pieces are among the most accurate and stunning that I have ever seen. See his first painting, second painting, and drawing of Chris. Read more about Kris' 'Someone To Believe In' painting here.
Below are photos of Kris' custom Christopher Reeve Superman action figure. The first two photos are of the very first figure produced in the late 1990's, provided to me by Kris himself. The remaining photos were taken by Superfan Martin Lakin, showing a later version of Kris' Superman figure with the excellent Hot Toys Marlon Brando Jor-el figure (see more Jor-el photos in the next section below).
I had the unique opportunity to watch Kris work on this marvelous collectible, and I am a proud owner of one of the few figures he was able to produce from start to finish. Congratulations to Kris for this outstanding achievement! New digital photos of the figure will be posted here sometime in 2010.

HOT TOYS MARLON BRANDO JOR-EL FIGURE!
Many of you purchased the amazing Marlon Brando Jor-el figure from Hot Toys in 2007. I was personally blown away when mine arrived in the mail! It is certainly one of my most favorite Superman collectibles, and proudly sits next to my custom Superman action figure by Kris Meadows. You will now have another opportunity to add this great piece to your collection.
Superfan Martin Lakin provided the first six photos below of the Jor-el figure -- I added some "Geoffrey Unsworth glow" to all of them. Thanks Martin for these great images! The others are the "official" Hot Toys photos. They can also be seen on their website here. Keep your fingers crossed that this company will soon make a definitive Christopher Reeve Superman figure in 2010!
